Fifty-four colleagues from DNATA have collectively won US$1 million in the latest Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw, held in Concourse B of Dubai International Airport.
The lucky ticket holder, Mr. Sanjay Lalla, a 54-year-old Indian national based in Dubai became a US$1 million winner in Millennium Millionaire Series 417 with ticket number 3837, which he purchased along with his colleagues on 28th February at The Irish Village in Garhoud during the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
A resident of Dubai for 29 years, Mr. Lalla and his colleagues comprising of Indian, Pakistani, Filipino and Sri Lankan nationals have been participating in the promotion for a year now, alternating the name on the ticket for each series whenever they purchase.
A father of two, Mr. Lalla, who works as a service delivery officer for DNATA and hails from Delhi in India, is the 208th Indian national to have won US$1 million since the start of the Millennium Millionaire promotion in 1999.
“Thank you so much Dubai Duty Free! We are all very grateful and happy for this win!” he said.
Today’s draws were conducted by Dubai Duty Free’s Executive Vice Chairman & CEO, Colm McLoughlin, Sinead El Sibai, SVP – Marketing, Mona Al Ali, SVP – Human Resources, Michael Schmidt, SVP – Retail and Zayed Al Shebli, SVP – Loss Prevention and Corporate Security.
After the Millennium Millionaire presentation, the Finest Surprise draw was conducted for a luxury car and two motorbikes.
Mr. Hassan Al Mustafa, a 49-year-old Syrian national based in Dubai won a Mercedes Benz S500 (Diamond White) car, with ticket number 0358 in Finest Surprise Series 1833, which he purchased online on 28th February.
Born and raised in Dubai, Mr. Al Mustafa has been a regular participant in the Dubai Duty Free promotion for 10 years now.
“What a surprise! Thank you for making my day extra special,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Muppalla Veera Satya Raju Narayan, a 58-year-old Indian national based in Dubai won a BMW R nineT Urban GS (Imperial Blue Metallic) motorbike, with ticket number 0804 in Finest Surprise Series 532, which he purchased on 11th February on his way to Bangalore.
A regular participant in the Dubai Duty Free promotion for 10 years, Mr. Narayan works as civil engineer.
“Finally, after a very long time! Thank you Dubai Duty Free, I hope this won’t be the last,” he said.
Lastly, Mr. Ayub Murad Ali Al Balusi, a 44-year-old Omani national based in Sharjah won a BMW F 850 GS Adventure (Triple Black) motorbike, with ticket number 0013 in Finest Surprise Series 533, which he purchased on 10th February on his way to Mumbai.
Born and raised in Sharjah, Mr. Al Balusi has been a regular participant in the Dubai Duty Free promotion for 15 years now and works as a public relations officer at Hamriya Freezone in Sharjah.
“Thank you Dubai Duty Free, I can’t wait to come to Dubai to collect my winning bike,” he said.
