BPS hosts Birla Competitive Programming Championship: The Birla Competitive Programming Championship (BCPC)-2025, an interschool programming competition held on May 31 at the Basant Kumar Birla Auditorium, brought together some of the brightest young minds from Indian schools across Qatar for an intense and intellectually challenging coding competition.

Hosted by the Department of Computer Science, Birla Public School (BPS), the event saw 44 students from 10 Indian schools in Qatar engage in a fast-paced two-hour contest designed to test advanced skills in Python and C++ programming. With live scoreboards and automated judging, the championship ensured complete transparency and fairness throughout the event.

Participants were challenged to their limits as they tackled seven problems covering complex topics including dynamic programming, graph theory, and real-world data structures.

Competing in teams, the young coders showcased exceptional logic, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, embodying the very spirit of innovation and resilience.

The championship was meticulously organised by a student-led team comprising Muhammed Rayan Savad, Raj Dave, and Yug Pratik Patel, under the expert guidance of Biswajit Mishra, Head of the Department of Computer Science, and Arshi Habiba, Programme In-Charge.

Their dedication and professionalism ensured seamless execution of the event. The Team BugSquashers from Podar Pearl School emerged as the champions, solving 4 problems with exceptional speed and accuracy. Team JURI and Team AlgoRythm, both from Birla Public School, bagged the second and third positions, respectively.

The awards were presented by Dr. Anand R. Nair, Principal of Birla Public School, along with the senior leadership team, who congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of all participating teams.

The success of BCPC-2025 is a testament to the growing interest in competitive programming among school students. It also highlights the importance of such platforms in nurturing future technology leaders who can think critically and code efficiently.

As the digital age continues to evolve, initiatives like BCPC play a crucial role in empowering students with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive in a tech-driven world.
