After 33 years of buying Dubai Duty-Free raffle tickets Dubai-based Indian expat Safir Ahamed, 76-year-old Indian expat wins $ 1 million (Dh3.67 million)

On hearing this news he said “Thank you Dubai Duty Free! This money will really go a long way,” said the expat who has been living in the emirate for 46 years now.

Besides Ahamed, another Indian national bagged the other $1-million raffle prize for the draw conducted on the 39th anniversary of Dubai Duty Free (DDF).

Roymiranda Rollent, based in India, became a dollar millionaire with ticket number 1946, which he purchased on November 29 on his way to Trivandrum. Rollent cannot be reached at the moment, organizers said.

Rollent and Ahamed are the 201st and 202nd Indian nationals, respectively, to have won $1 million since the start of the Millennium Millionaire promotion in 1999. Indian nationals make up the highest number of Millennium Millionaire ticket buyers, reports Khaleej Times
