Bihar Diwas Celebrated with Grandeur at Consulate General of India, NY

The Bihar Foundation US, East Coast Chapter, in collaboration with the Bihar Jharkhand Association of North America (BJANA) and the Consulate General of India, NY, marked Bihar Diwas with fervor and enthusiasm at the Consulate General of India, NY.

A press release from BF-US announced that Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conveyed their congratulatory messages and best wishes for the occasion.

The event showcased Bihar’s rich tourism destinations, cultural heritage, exquisite Madhubani paintings, and delectable culinary delights, offering attendees a glimpse into the state’s vibrant cultural tapestry.

Consul General of India, NY, Binaya Pradhan, extended his congratulations to the Bihari diaspora for Bihar Diwas and shared his personal affinity to Bihar, hailing from Orissa. He highlighted Bihar’s illustrious leadership, including figures like late President Dr. Rajendra Prasad and scientist Aryabhata.

The program also featured Santa Mishra reciting his original “Bihar Diwas poem” and FIA (NYNJCT&NE) President Dr. Avinash Gupta discussing healthcare sector improvements, notably the Bihar AIMS in Patna and the upcoming AIMS in Darbhanga.

BJANA President Sanjeev Singh emphasized infrastructure development in Bihar and untapped opportunities, while Rajnish Ojha from the Bihar Jharkhand Association of New England (BJANE) advocated for unity to elevate Bihar’s status.

Alok Kumar, Chairman of Bihar Foundation US East Coast, highlighted recent opportunities in Bihar, particularly in information technology, citing companies like Tiger Analytics and HCL Technology. Dr. Krishna P. Singh, who has signed a Rupees 3000 Crore deal in green energy, stressed the importance of Biharis contributing to the state’s development and encouraged visits to witness Bihar’s potential in tourism and industries.

Anandita Jha’s contemporary dance performance on “Aaju Mithila Nagaria” added a cultural flair to the event, while outstanding individuals were honored with the Bihar Vishwa Gaurav Samman recognition.

Dr. K.P. Singh, founder & CEO of Holtec International, received recognition for his contributions in nuclear waste management, expressing his pride in being a Bihari and his commitment to bringing more green energy to the state. Other honorees included Amit Choudhary, COO at Wipro Limited, and Dr. Dinesh Ranjan, founder of PRAN medical group, who highlighted Bihar’s potential for growth and the increasing healthcare needs of underprivileged people.

Additionally, Abhinave Atul, Director of Nutrivet Farmcare, was acknowledged for his mission to provide medication to pet animals at a reasonable cost. Notable individuals in fields such as painting and Litti promotion were also recognized for their commendable work.

Ranjeet Kumar, vice chairman of Bihar Foundation, extended gratitude to all participants, including CG Pradhan, BJANA members, and guests from other states, for their active involvement in making the event a grand success. Special acknowledgment was given to past presidents of BJANA and other dignitaries for their valuable contributions.
