Bollywood-Inspired Shows Set to Light Up Darwen Library Theatre: Fans of Bollywood music and cinema can look forward to two vibrant stage productions arriving at Darwen Library Theatre this spring, celebrating iconic Indian films through live music, dance, and theatrical storytelling.

The first show, “Tujhe Dekha – Celebrating 30 Years of DDLJ,” will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2025. The production pays tribute to the legendary Bollywood romance Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, often known as DDLJ, which remains one of the most beloved romantic films in Indian cinema.

The live stage event commemorates the film’s 30th anniversary, bringing its memorable love story, timeless music, and classic dance sequences to the theatre stage. Audiences can expect performances inspired by the film’s famous songs and scenes that helped make the movie a global Bollywood phenomenon.

Another highlight for Bollywood enthusiasts will arrive on Friday, May 29, when the theatre hosts “Say Shava Shava – Live Tribute to Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.” The production celebrates the 25th anniversary of the blockbuster Bollywood family drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Described as a dazzling live music and dance spectacle, the show features live vocals, colorful costumes, and energetic choreography recreating some of the film’s most memorable musical moments—from emotional ballads to lively dance numbers.

Both productions are being presented by entertainment promoters LuvEntertainment, known for bringing South Asian cultural shows and comedy tours to audiences across the United Kingdom.

Organisers said the performances are designed to offer audiences an immersive theatre experience celebrating Bollywood’s rich musical and storytelling tradition.

“Both shows deliver powerful live entertainment that blends music, movement and audience engagement—offering something truly special for theatre audiences this season,” organisers said in a statement.

With Bollywood’s popularity continuing to grow internationally, the shows are expected to attract both South Asian communities and wider audiences eager to experience the glamour and rhythm of Indian cinema on stage.
