Election Schedule Announced for NRN UK Unity Convention on March 23. The Non-Resident Nepali Association, National Coordination Council (NRN NCC) UK, has publicly announced the election schedule for its Unity Convention, set to take place on March 23.
The election committee revealed the timeline during a press conference held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at a restaurant in Aldershot. According to the schedule, the deadline for membership registration is midnight on March 15. The voter list will be published on March 16 at 5 PM, while objections to membership claims can be filed until 5 PM on March 17.
Similarly, the deadline for candidate nominations is March 19 at 5 PM, and objections to nominations can be submitted until 1 PM on March 20. The final list of candidates will be published at 7 PM on March 20, following the withdrawal of nominations by 3 PM the same day.
On March 21, the candidates’ commitments will be made public, and the election, result announcement, and oath-taking ceremony will take place on March 23.
The convention aims to form a 36-member NRN NCC. The nomination fees have been set at £1,000 for the positions of President and ICC representative, £500 for Vice President and General Secretary, £300 for Secretary, Women’s Secretary, and Treasurer, £200 for Deputy Treasurer, Women’s Coordinator, and Youth Coordinator, and £100 for the 18 council members. The committee emphasized that candidates and voters must be physically present to participate.
Election Committee and Organizing Team
The election committee is coordinated by Dr. Bhim Pun, with Member Secretary Vishwasdeep Tigela and members Rajkumar Tripathi and Tek Bahadur Thapa.
On Sunday, the 527-member main organizing committee also held a press conference at the same venue. The committee is chaired by Yogen Kshetri, with Rajkumar Tripathi serving as Secretary.

During the event, NRN UK President Prem Gaha Magar, former Tamudhin UK President Gyam Gurung, former DSP Watchaspati Regmi, former Councilor Pravesh KC, and Om Prasad Thapa Kauca, chief coordinator of the NRN UK Gurkha Task Force, shared their perspectives.
NRN UK Vice President Tharke Sen appealed to members to participate in the conventions in the UK and Nepal by registering for membership. He assured that Dr. Shesh Ghale would attend the NRN UK convention and urged everyone to fulfill their collective responsibilities.

NRN UK patrons Bharat Roka Kshetri and Veer Bahadur Thapa, ICC member Sharada Gurung, Captain Retd. Hitman Gurung, Narmati Pun, and UK Building Chairman Ganga Gurung, among others, also shared their views.
Chief Patron David Gurung honored the main organizing committee coordinator Yogen Kshetri, RK Tripathi, and others by draping them with traditional scarves (feta). He called on everyone to work together to ensure the success of the Unity Convention.
