England won the World Cup 2022 by beating neighbors India in Semi-Finals & Pakistan in the Finals.

Jos Buttler’s team held Pakistan for 137-8 in front of a large 80,462 fans majority of them consisting of Pakistani origin at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Curran was awarded the Player of the Match for his bowling display of bagging 3-12, and fellow teammate Adil Rashid chipping with 2-22. 

England slumped to 49-3 in the sixth over, Stokes (52 not out) and Moeen Ali (19) became a wall to stop the Pakistani bowling onslaught by stabilizing the innings and guiding England to 138-5 with six balls to spare. 

Earlier in the tournament, in the semi-final game between England and India at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday. England thrashed Indian bowler, English openers Alex Hales, and Jos Buttler guided their team to win comprehensively the semi-finals.

Only Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya showed some spine against England’s bowlers took to a respectable total of 168 at the loss of 6 wickets.
