‘King Khan’ Shahrukh Khan tops TIME’s annual poll

Shahrukh Khan The winner of the TIME100 poll for 2023 has been chosen. The poll was decided by readers who voted for the people and groups they believed should be on the magazine’s annual list of Most Influential People. According to reports, 12 lakh votes were cast and 4% of them went to Shahrukh.

Stars and noteworthy figures also featured on the poll included actor Michelle Yeoh, athlete Serena Williams, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. But it was Khan that ultimately took the win, earning 4% of the vote after more than 1.2 million votes were cast reports Time Magazine.

The number of votes he got was 3%. The women also won the 2022 Person of the Year poll from the magazine’s readers. Healthcare workers who have been on the front lines of the pandemic since 2020 came third with 2% of the vote.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle came in fourth with 1.9% of the vote. Earlier this year, Harry made headlines around the world by releasing his memoir Spare and talking about his experiences being a member of the British royal family. Footballer Lionel Messi came fifth with 1.8% of the vote.

Time’s annual list of the world’s most powerful people for 2023 will be published later this month. Gautam Adani, Karuna Nandy and Khurram Parvez were the only Indians in the 2022 list.
