Lyca Radio Becomes London’s No.1 Asian Commercial Radio Station, Reaches Record 170,000 Listeners: Lyca Radio has officially become London’s No.1 Asian commercial radio station, according to the latest RAJAR Q3 2026 audience figures published today. The achievement comes 12 years after the station began broadcasting and marks a milestone for the Lyca Radio Network.

According to the latest figures, Lyca Radio recorded its highest-ever weekly audience reach of 170,000 listeners, up from 154,000 in the previous quarter. The increase has placed the station at the top of London’s Asian commercial radio market, ahead of a rival that has held its position for 30 years.

The growth also extends across the Lyca Radio Network. Lyca Radio and Lyca Gold together recorded a combined weekly reach of 217,000 listeners across Greater London, reflecting the network’s audience across different generations of Asian music enthusiasts.

Lyca Gold continues to hold its position as London’s No.1 Asian retro music station, strengthening the network’s presence in the city’s Asian radio market.

Raj Baddhan, Chief Executive Officer of Lyca Radio Network, described the achievement as a significant moment for the organization.

“We have made history today. After 12 years of broadcasting, Lyca Radio has officially become London’s No.1 Asian commercial radio station. This is a hugely proud moment for us, and a testament to the dedication, hard work and commitment of my incredible team,” he said.

Baddhan also highlighted the network’s overall performance, noting that Lyca Radio had achieved its highest-ever weekly reach while the group continued to maintain its position in London’s Asian commercial radio market.

He congratulated the teams behind Lyca Radio and Lyca Gold and thanked listeners and supporters for their continued contribution to the stations’ growth.

The latest RAJAR figures establish three positions for the network in London:

  • Lyca Radio: London’s No.1 Asian commercial radio station.
  • Lyca Radio Group: London’s No.1 Asian commercial radio group.
  • Lyca Gold: London’s No.1 Asian retro music station.

The results reflect the continued importance of Asian radio in London’s broadcasting landscape, serving audiences interested in Bollywood music, regional entertainment, news, cultural programming and community content.

For Lyca Radio, the latest figures mark a milestone in its 12-year broadcasting journey and strengthen its position in the competitive UK Asian radio market.
