Actor Puneet Issar, celebrated for his iconic portrayal of Duryodhana in B. R. Chopra’s television masterpiece ‘Mahabharat’, is all set to embark on a new journey, bringing the timeless saga of ‘Ramayana’ to the Broadway stage in a grand musical production.
Titled ‘Jai Shri Ram – Ramayan’, the ambitious show is poised to enrapture audiences across multiple venues in the United States and Canada. From mid-April to May, cities including Dallas, the California Bay Area, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Chicago, Houston, Toronto, Vancouver, Raleigh, North Carolina, and Boston will witness the enchanting spectacle.
Crafted, scripted, produced, and directed by Puneet Issar and Siddhant Issar, the production promises a captivating runtime of 2 hours and 45 minutes. Infused with the essence of Broadway, the theatrical extravaganza boasts 13 original soundtracks complemented by a mesmerizing live background score.
Expressing his excitement, Puneet Issar remarked, “I am thrilled to premiere this grandeur, offering audiences in the US and Canada a glimpse of Indian artistry and talent through this unforgettable epic narrative. This is not only an ancient Indian epic, but the production also portrays human relationships and values of humanity, steering clear of religious themes.”
The stellar cast includes Puneet Issar essaying the role of Raavan, Vindu Dara Singh portraying Hanuman, Shilpa Raizada bringing Sita to life, and Siddhant Issar embodying the character of Ram.
The production is a collaboration between Shri Balaji Entertainment and Dome Entertainment, promising an experience that transcends cultural boundaries and celebrates the rich heritage of Indian mythology.
