Residents Hail Abu Dhabi as World’s Safest City for 10th consecutive Year: Abu Dhabi has once again been named the safest city in the world, securing the top spot for the tenth consecutive year, according to global data platform Numbeo, reinforcing the emirate’s reputation as a secure, welcoming, and high-quality place to live, work, and visit.

The ranking, which analysed crime statistics across 338 major cities worldwide, placed Abu Dhabi first with the lowest crime index, while Dubai followed closely at 11th place, further underlining the UAE’s strong position on global safety standards.

For residents, the recognition comes as no surprise.

Dr. Ravi Teja Tangirala, Profession: Doctor, UAE “Abu Dhabi’s achievement as the World’s Safest City for the 10th consecutive year is truly inspiring. It reflects the city’s strong leadership, effective governance, and commitment to creating a secure, welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

This milestone highlights not only world-class safety standards but also the quality of life and peace of mind that make Abu Dhabi a global benchmark for urban excellence.”

“You can walk at night without fear, leave your car unlocked, and feel completely at ease,” said Aisha Khan, a long-time Abu Dhabi resident. “Safety here is not just a statistic—it’s something we live every day.”

According to Numbeo, Abu Dhabi recorded a crime index of 13.63, improving from 14.41 last year, while Dubai’s score also improved slightly, dropping to 19.03 from 19.50. On Numbeo’s scale, a score of 1 indicates no crime, while 100 represents extreme danger.

Officials attribute the achievement to sustained investments in policing, urban planning, and community wellbeing.

“Safety is paramount when choosing a city to visit or live and work in, and we are proud to be the top of the list for the second year running,” said Saif Saeed Ghobash, Undersecretary at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
“Our capital’s strong reputation for safety and a virtually crime-free society reflects our ongoing efforts to establish Abu Dhabi as a destination of distinction with international standards of safety.”

Imran khan, Lawyer: Abu Dhabi has become one of the safest cities because it has a strong legal system that is fair, clear, and enforced quickly. Laws are applied strictly, cases are handled efficiently, and there is zero tolerance for serious violations.

This is supported by a fast and effective surveillance system that helps authorities prevent crime, respond quickly, and maintain public safety. Together, good laws, speedy justice, and smart monitoring create a safe and secure environment for everyone.

Expatriates also echoed similar sentiments. “As a parent, safety was the biggest factor in moving here,” said Rahul Mehta, an Indian expatriate working in the capital. “My children commute independently, and that peace of mind is priceless.”

The UAE’s strict law enforcement policies have played a key role in maintaining low crime rates, particularly in combating narcotics-related offences.

Authorities have taken a tough stance against drug trafficking and usage, with police significantly increasing seizures and arrests nationwide.
