This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Dr. Arun Garg, a 2017 Champion of Philanthropy and a trailblazer in laboratory medicine. Known for his dedication to South Asian health and culturally responsive care, Dr. Garg founded the South Asian Health Institute and the Canada India Network Society (CINS). His visionary work has strengthened partnerships between communities and healthcare systems in Canada and India. Dr. Zameer Hirji: A Visionary in Interventional Radiology

Dr. Zameer Hirji, Interventional Radiologist at Royal Columbian Hospital, has been named a 2025 Champion of Philanthropy. As a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia, Dr. Medvedev has mentored countless students, interns, and residents. Dr. Sukh Brar: Innovating Cardiac Care and Blood Conservation

Dr. Sukh Brar, Anesthesiologist and Cardiac Intensive Care Physician at Royal Columbian Hospital, has been recognized for his visionary leadership in cardiac care. He has pioneered advancements in blood conservation techniques for cardiac surgery and advocated for systemic healthcare improvements across British Columbia. Serving on the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, Dr. Brar’s advocacy and insight have significantly strengthened the hospital’s commitment to patient safety and innovation.

Sheila Finamore: Championing Excellence in Healthcare Leadership

Sheila Finamore, Executive Director at Royal Columbian Hospital, has also been named a 2025 Champion of Philanthropy. With over 35 years in healthcare, she has led transformational initiatives in medicine, surgery, oncology, and emergency care. Her leadership extends to overseeing Clinical Operations, the Fraser Health Cardiac Network, and the Royal Columbian Hospital Redevelopment.
