Tata Motors to Acquire Iveco Group, Creating a Global Force in Commercial Vehicles: In a landmark deal, Tata Motors has announced its plan to acquire the Iveco Group, positioning the newly formed entity as a powerful global player in the commercial vehicle industry. This strategic acquisition combines two giants with complementary capabilities, an expanded global footprint, and a shared vision for the future of mobility.

The Iveco Group Board has recommended Tata Motors’ all-cash voluntary tender offer for all issued common shares of Iveco, priced at EUR 14.1 per share, valuing the deal at approximately EUR 3.8 billion. However, the offer is conditional on the separation of Iveco’s defence business, which is not part of the acquisition.

The tender will be made by TML CV Holdings PTE LTD, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors. Post-approval, the two firms aim to integrate their operations to leverage each other’s industrial strength, global reach, and innovation ecosystems.

Strategic Synergy and Shared Vision

Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Motors, called the acquisition a “logical next step” following the demerger of Tata’s commercial vehicle business. “With strategic home markets in India and Europe, this deal enhances our ability to compete globally and invest boldly,” he said.

Suzanne Heywood, Chair of Iveco Group, echoed the sentiment, highlighting that the partnership supports “sustainable mobility and security of employment” while safeguarding Iveco’s industrial base.

Girish Wagh, Executive Director at Tata Motors, said the deal unlocks opportunities for innovation, operational excellence, and customer-centric solutions. He added, “We are shaping a resilient and agile enterprise equipped for the transformative era of mobility.”

Olof Persson, CEO of Iveco Group, emphasized the boost in industrial capabilities and expanded reach into key global markets. “Together, we can accelerate innovation in zero-emission transport and deliver long-term value to stakeholders,” he stated.

As the commercial vehicle sector faces massive transformation driven by sustainability and digitalization, the Tata-Iveco alliance is expected to lead the way, shaping the future of global mobility.
