United Sikhs Bring Aid and Hope to Flood-Hit Texans: In flood-ravaged Kerr County, Texas, where homes lie damaged and families remain displaced, one global humanitarian group has stepped up with unwavering compassion. United Sikhs, an international Sikh nonprofit, has become a critical lifeline—delivering far more than supplies. They’re bringing hope, comfort, and dignity to flood survivors.

Immediately after the floods struck, United Sikhs’ Disaster Response Team mobilized across the affected areas. Their volunteers delivered hot meals, non-perishable food, clothing, hygiene kits, cleaning supplies, baby formula, and even medical aid. As floodwaters slowly recede, their presence continues to serve as a powerful reminder of humanity in action.

At the Hunt United Methodist Church, which now functions as a local relief hub, one moment perfectly captured the spirit of seva—selfless service. Susie, a local volunteer coordinator, shared a heartwarming memory. “A young mother came in asking for baby milk. I looked around, but we had none,” she explained. “Then, just two minutes later, the United Sikhs team walked in—carrying exactly what we needed. Milk.”

She called it “truly amazing”—a moment of desperation instantly met with divine timing.

Gurvinder Singh, United Sikhs’ International Humanitarian Aid Director, emphasized the spiritual nature of their work. “Often, we don’t know exactly what people will need until we get there,” he said. “But somehow, the right supplies always find their way into our hands. That’s the power of seva.”

Since their arrival, United Sikhs have offered aid to shelters, Red Cross sites, veteran camps, and churches across Kerr County and nearby towns. With each act of giving, they deliver not just necessities—but a reassuring human touch when it’s needed most.
