Way Too Much, Still Never Enough – Riz Ahmed Stars as Shah Latif in Bait Trailer: The official trailer for the highly anticipated comedy series Bait has been released, offering the first look at Emmy and Academy Award–winning actor Riz Ahmed in the lead role of Shah Latif. All six episodes of the series will premiere globally on March 25, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video, reaching viewers in more than 240 countries and territories.

Ahmed, a British actor and rapper, has earned international recognition for his powerful performances across film and television. Over the course of his career, he has received several prestigious honors, including an Academy Award and a Primetime Emmy Award, along with nominations for two Golden Globe Awards and two British Academy Film Awards. In 2017, he was also named among the world’s most influential people by Time.

Created by and starring Ahmed, Bait blends satire with modern celebrity culture. In the series, Ahmed plays Shah Latif, a struggling actor whose career is hanging by a thread. His final opportunity to break through arrives in the form of an audition of a lifetime. The story unfolds over four chaotic days as Latif’s life spirals into comedic chaos while family members, friends, and even the wider world debate whether he is truly the right man for the job.
The series promises a mix of humor, drama, and cultural commentary, offering a comedic lens on fame, identity, and ambition in the entertainment industry.
Joining Ahmed in the ensemble cast are Guz Khan as Zulfi, Sheeba Chaddha as Tahira, Sajid Hasan as Parvez, Aasiya Shah as Q, Weruche Opia as Felicia, and Ritu Arya as Yasmin.
Bait is executive produced by Ahmed and Allie Moore for Left Handed, with Jake Fuller representing Jax Media. Veteran producer Ben Karlin serves as executive producer and showrunner alongside Ahmed, who also contributes as a writer. The series is produced by Jax Media in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios.
With Ahmed’s creative vision and a diverse international cast, Bait is expected to generate strong buzz when it premieres later this month, delivering a comedic yet thoughtful exploration of the pressures of fame and the unpredictable journey toward success.
