Telangana to Name Road Near US Consulate ‘Donald Trump Avenue’ in Hyderabad: The Telangana government has announced that a road adjacent to the United States Consulate General in Hyderabad will be named Donald Trump Avenue, honouring Donald Trump, the 45th and 47th President of the US. Officials confirmed that the state will officially inform the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the U.S. Embassy about the plan.
Earlier this year, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy highlighted at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) in Delhi that key Hyderabad roads could bear the names of global leaders and industry titans. Subsequently, this initiative evolved into a city-wide exercise to reflect Telangana’s growing global footprint.
A Vision for a Global Innovation City
Moreover, Telangana is working to redesign the identity of Hyderabad by aligning road names with international technology corporations and influential leaders. This identity-building push aims to map Hyderabad onto the global innovation landscape, positioning the city alongside Silicon Valley and Washington DC.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the upcoming greenfield radial road connecting the Nehru Outer Ring Road at Raviryala to the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR) will be named after industrial icon Ratan Tata. Additionally, the adjoining interchange has already been designated as the Tata Interchange, underscoring Tata Group’s role in India’s growth story.
Tech Giants to Be Engraved on Hyderabad’s Road Network
Furthermore, Hyderabad’s fast-expanding tech corridor will see major recognitions for global companies. A key road passing Google’s largest upcoming office campus outside the United States will be known as Google Street, acknowledging its contribution to India’s digital transformation. Similarly, routes near Microsoft and Wipro campuses will be labelled Microsoft Road and Wipro Junction.
Officials say these names represent gratitude to international partners who have contributed significantly to Telangana’s development. They also stressed that additional proposals to honour individuals and global corporations are under evaluation.
