Tehrathum Samaj UK Holds Annual Gathering 2026 in London: The annual gathering of Tehrathum Samaj UK for 2026 was held successfully in London, bringing together members of the Nepali community for a day of cultural celebration, recognition, and entertainment.
The event took place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Samuel Cody School on Valentia Road in Farnborough, United Kingdom. The programme was chaired by the organization’s president, Jay Mademba, while the chief guest was founding president and adviser Chitra Raj Hukpa Changbang, who holds the honours of MVO and MBE.
The programme began with the national anthems of Nepal and the United Kingdom, followed by a joint ceremonial lamp lighting by the president and chief guest to formally inaugurate the event.

Children from the community presented a welcome dance performance during the opening session. The programme also included the recognition of new lifetime members of the society, who were presented with certificates and badges. Students achieving outstanding academic success received encouragement awards, while individuals who had made notable contributions in various fields were also honoured.
Guests and community representatives delivered congratulatory remarks during the first session of the programme, which concluded with a special welcome and recognition ceremony for women participants.
The second session featured a raffle draw led by vice-president Om Magar before cultural performances commenced. Organizers stated that the programme aimed to preserve and promote Nepali traditional culture and identity among the diaspora community in the United Kingdom.

Special attractions of the cultural programme included performances by popular Nepali singer Rupi Sinjali Magar, singer Sunita Thebe, and emerging dance artist Jeniha Teyung Limbu, who are currently on a musical tour in the UK.
Participants also enjoyed music and cocktail dance performances that continued until the conclusion of the event.
At the closing ceremony, president Jay Mademba thanked all guests and participants for their support and attendance. Programme coordinator and vice-president Bir Narsing Hu Chongbang expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the event and formally announced the conclusion of the gathering.
The event, which ran from 10 am to 8 pm, was hosted by the society’s secretary Bishal Yangdemba Limbu, while the welcome address and musical programme were conducted by vice-president Sanu Subba.
