Indian expat student creates App to facilitate book sharing among students in a bid to address the perennial issue of what to do with textbooks at the end of the school year, a has developed a mobile application that enables parents and students to buy, sell, or donate used books.
Rudraksh Bhandari, the head boy of Delhi Private School Sharjah, spearheaded the creation of the ShareAllBooks app, emphasizing its potential to mitigate the environmental impact of book production while enhancing access to educational resources. “We also want to foster a thriving reader community by forming an engaging group of like-minded individuals who support sustainability and the joy of reading,” he stated.
Accessible on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Apple Shops, ShareAllBooks offers a user-friendly interface, allowing individuals to register and browse for desired books with ease. The app features geographical and genre filters, enabling users to post books for donation or sale. Direct communication between users facilitates transactions, whether through scheduling meetings or arranging book deliveries.
“I’m convinced that we can maintain this in the years to come because I believe in the significance and impact of my initiative,” Bhandari affirmed. ShareAllBooks, developed using React Native, aims to make books more affordable, reduce the environmental footprint of printing, and foster a vibrant reading community.
With hundreds of books already donated through the app and ranking #41 in the Apple App Store’s Top Charts for the “Book” category, ShareAllBooks is poised to make a lasting impact in promoting literacy and sustainability.
