Nepal Promotes Himalayan Wellness and Spiritual Heritage at London Embassy Event: Nepal’s spiritual traditions, wellness practices and rich cultural heritage were highlighted at a special programme titled “Self-Awakening for Wellness and Prosperity”, held at the Embassy of Nepal in London.
The event brought together members of the diplomatic community, media representatives, members of the Nepali diaspora and professionals from various fields to explore the relationship between self-awareness, mental and physical wellbeing, inner transformation and prosperity.
Speaking at the programme, Guru L. P. Bhanu Sharma, co-founder of Jeevan Vigyan and a life-development expert, said Nepal has an opportunity to offer the world much more than its mountains and natural beauty. He highlighted the country’s distinctive spiritual knowledge and philosophy as important elements of its global cultural identity.
Sharma said Nepal’s Himalayan traditions of yoga, meditation, spirituality, mindfulness, natural health practices and conscious living could form the foundation of a globally relevant wellness ecosystem.
He argued that these traditions could help establish Nepal as an international destination for wellness, inner transformation and holistic prosperity.
“The global community should be invited not only to see Nepal, but to experience Nepal,” Sharma said, calling for greater cooperation to take Nepal’s nature, knowledge, healing traditions and lifestyle to international audiences.
Promoting “Himalayan Wisdom, Global Wellbeing”
Sharma also presented the concept of “Himalayan Wisdom, Global Wellbeing,” describing Nepal’s wellness traditions as more than cultural heritage and as a potential contribution to global wellbeing.
The programme also included a Self-Awakening Meditation session. Participants took part in a short guided meditation and subsequently shared experiences of greater mental calm, awareness of the present moment and positive energy.
The organisers said the exercise demonstrated that meditation can be experienced as a practical discipline rather than simply understood as a theoretical concept.
Nepal Seeks to Expand Wellness Tourism
Bipin Duwadi, Acting Ambassador of Nepal to the United Kingdom, thanked Sharma for his participation and said the Government of Nepal has made the promotion of wellness tourism a priority.
Duwadi expressed confidence that programmes of this nature could contribute to promoting Nepal’s spiritual, cultural and natural heritage internationally.
The event also highlighted the potential of yoga, meditation, spirituality and traditional natural health practices to connect Nepal’s cultural heritage with the growing global wellness movement.
Participants said the programme offered new opportunities for Nepal to develop its position as a destination for wellness tourism while presenting its Himalayan traditions and philosophy to audiences around the world.
