Japanese Management Leaders Explore India’s Business Landscape, Led by AJAI President Yogi よぎ. In a move to strengthen ties between Japan and India, 23 top-tier Japanese companies gathered for an executive management course organized by the Japan Management Association (JMA) on October 26, 2024. Attended by General Managers and C-level executives from diverse industries, the session highlighted key operational insights for expanding into India.

Yogendra “Yogi” Puranik, President of the All Japan Association of Indians (AJAI), delivered a compelling lecture addressing India’s potential as a strategic partner for Japan. Bringing his extensive experience as a public speaker, writer, social worker, and the first Indian-origin public school principal in Japan, Puranik discussed India’s advantages in the face of Japan’s demographic challenges, such as a declining birthrate, an aging population, and diminishing research and innovation capacities.

His talk included a series of case studies guiding participants through the steps required to establish, register, and operate international businesses in India. Puranik’s insight and practical examples sparked lively engagement during the Q&A session. Following the seminar, the Japanese management team will embark on a field visit to India to observe business operations firsthand. This initiative will allow them to visit plants, government offices, and various industry hubs, providing practical insights into India’s dynamic business environment.
