PICS Society Launches #LoyalCanadian Campaign to Promote Canadian-Made Products. In a bold move to celebrate Canadian pride and support local businesses, the Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society has launched the #LoyalCanadian campaign. This initiative aims to educate and encourage Canadians to buy locally made products, fostering economic growth and national pride.

The campaign was officially announced during a ceremony attended by PICS President & CEO Satbir S. Cheema, Member of Parliament for Surrey—Newton Sukh Dhaliwal, and PICS Board Chair Maninder Grewal. The event, held on National Flag of Canada Day, emphasized the importance of supporting Canadian industries and preserving the country’s economic independence.

“PICS pledges to buy local Canadian products as much as possible, starting today. Our Women Transitional Homes, Senior Housing, PICS head office, and other locations will follow the same practice,” declared Satbir S. Cheema during the announcement.

MP Sukh Dhaliwal echoed the sentiment, presenting a Canadian flag to the PICS Society and stating, “Generosity, openness, equality—these are the values that this flag represents and continues to uphold.”

The campaign also carries a strong message of national sovereignty. “Canada is not for sale, and we are not the 51st state,” asserted Maninder Grewal, PICS Board Chair, highlighting the importance of maintaining Canada’s unique identity and economic independence.

The #LoyalCanadian movement seeks to raise awareness about the brands Canadians use daily and inspire them to choose Canadian-made products. Phalak Betab, Marketing, Communications & Fundraising Officer at PICS, shared, “We are proud to launch this campaign on National Flag of Canada Day as a celebration of our patriotism. We plan to host fun challenges and create educational content to promote Canadian brands worldwide.”

PICS invites everyone to join the movement by using the hashtag #LoyalCanadian when purchasing local Canadian brands. The campaign aims to create a ripple effect, encouraging individuals and organizations to prioritize Canadian products in their daily lives.

As the #LoyalCanadian campaign gains momentum, PICS Society hopes to strengthen the Canadian economy, support local businesses, and foster a sense of unity and pride among Canadians.
