Bay Area Bangladesh Association Announces New Executive Committee and Board of Trustees for 2026–2027: The Bay Area Bangladesh Association (BABA) has officially announced its newly elected Executive Committee (BABA-EC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) for the 2026–2028 term, marking an important step forward in strengthening leadership, governance, and community engagement.

Earlier, members elected a single-panel leadership team to guide the organization for the next two years. As mandated by the election process, the panel was entrusted with finalizing all secretarial portfolios and communicating the complete leadership structure to the community. That process has now been successfully completed.
Newly Elected BABA Executive Committee (2026–2027)
The BABA Executive Committee now consists of eight members, forming a collaborative and well-balanced leadership team dedicated to serving the Bangladeshi community across the Bay Area.

The full Executive Committee includes:
- President: Saif Ansary
- Vice President: Tahmina Imam
- General Secretary: Shumona Qaosar
- Finance Secretary: Mushfiqur Rahman
- Women and Children Secretary: Mehnaz Rahman
- Sports Secretary: Raiyan Mainuddin
- Cultural Secretary: Kashfia Rahman
- Publications Secretary: Shariful Bhuiyan
Each member brings experience, dedication, and a shared vision for the continued growth and development of BABA. Together, the committee aims to strengthen unity across the community while promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance.
Leadership Priorities and Community Commitment
Moving forward, the new Executive Committee has committed to enhancing communication, improving organizational effectiveness, and building on past achievements while embracing innovation. In addition, the committee plans to encourage broader community participation and ensure inclusive programs that reflect the diverse needs of Bangladeshi families in Northern California.
BABA leaders have encouraged community members to actively support the new committee as it works toward creating a stronger, more connected, and more vibrant organization.
Board of Trustees Elected to Strengthen Governance
Alongside the election of the Executive Committee, BABA has also constituted its Board of Trustees in accordance with the organization’s constitution and governance framework. The Board plays a vital role in providing oversight, ensuring continuity, safeguarding organizational values, and offering long-term strategic guidance.

The newly elected Board of Trustees includes:

- General Secretary: Mohammed Shahriar
- Trustee Member: Tiku Rahman
- Trustee Member: Khadiza Piu
- Trustee Member: Ken Kabir
The Board of Trustees will work independently while collaborating closely with the Executive Committee to promote transparency, accountability, and the long-term sustainability of BABA.

The Bay Area Bangladesh Association (BABA) is a non-profit, non-political, and secular organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and communities through education, advocacy, and support.
BABA’s key objectives include empowering children through art, sports, and cultural experiences, while ensuring access to high-quality artistic instruction, athletic training, and cultural education regardless of socioeconomic background. These programs aim to build self-confidence, teamwork, and a strong sense of community among children.
In addition, BABA works to promote goodwill and understanding among its members and with other ethnic communities in the Bay Area. The organization actively supports newly arrived Bangladeshis as they adapt to the social, economic, and cultural environment of the United States.
Beyond the Bay Area, BABA remains committed to contributing to economic and educational development in Bangladesh. At the same time, it strives to preserve and promote Bangladeshi cultural heritage among residents of Northern California through cultural and educational programs, exchanges, and community events.
