Aishwarya Nicole Tan Crowned Miss World Singapore 2026: The South Asian community has another reason to celebrate after Aishwarya Nicole Tan, the only daughter of a Peranakan father and a Tamil mother, was crowned Miss World Singapore 2026, earning the honour of representing Singapore at the 75th Anniversary Miss World Festival in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5, 2026. Her victory is a proud moment that reflects Singapore’s multicultural identity while highlighting the growing influence of the Indian diaspora on the global stage.
The 22-year-old businesswoman and communications graduate captured the national title during the Miss World Singapore Grand Finale held on July 4 at the Stamford Arts Centre. More than just a beauty queen, Aishwarya represents a new generation of young women who are combining entrepreneurship, education, and social impact with cultural pride.
Aishwarya’s multicultural heritage makes her story particularly inspiring. As the daughter of a Peranakan Chinese father and an Indian Tamil mother, she embodies the rich diversity of Singapore while celebrating her South Asian roots on an international platform. Her selection continues the proud tradition of women of Indian heritage making their mark at prestigious international pageants.
Aishwarya holds a Diploma in Mass Communications and a Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Business Management with Communications. She currently works as a tutor while running Noisyhotdogs, her creative marketing agency. Her entrepreneurial journey began at just 17 years old when she launched her own tuition business before later establishing Speedy’s Doodles, a live caricature entertainment company that has become popular at events across Singapore.
Community service has been central to her journey. Through The Lily Foundation, established in memory of her late grandmother, Aishwarya supports low-income families and hospice befriending programmes while encouraging compassion through education and storytelling. Her commitment closely reflects the Beauty With a Purpose philosophy that lies at the heart of the Miss World organization.
Fluent in English and Malay, with working knowledge of Mandarin and Tamil, Aishwarya enjoys Muay Thai, ballet, singing, touch rugby, reading, and travelling. Her diverse interests and multicultural upbringing have helped shape a confident young leader ready to represent Singapore on one of the world’s biggest international stages.
Following her victory, an emotional Aishwarya reflected on the experience.
“Everything still feels surreal. This journey toward Miss World Singapore was a wild rollercoaster. I will miss the sleepless nights, choreography practices, and suppers after training. I was blessed with such a wonderful group of girls and made lifelong friends on this journey.”
According to Tabla, Singapore media reports, Aishwarya entered the competition without any previous modelling experience, describing herself as a “selfie girl” who saw the pageant as an opportunity to challenge herself and grow personally. Supported by family and friends, she embraced the experience and ultimately claimed the coveted national crown.
As she prepares to compete against contestants from around the globe in Vietnam, Aishwarya Nicole Tan will carry not only the Singapore flag but also the pride of her multicultural heritage. For the South Asian diaspora, her journey stands as another inspiring reminder that talent, compassion, and determination continue to open doors on the global stage.
