Diljit Dosanjh Makes History at Wembley, Announces Ahmedabad Stadium Concert: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has added another landmark achievement to his international career, becoming the first Punjabi artist to headline Wembley Stadium in London. The historic performance was followed by another major announcement: Dosanjh will perform at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on November 21, 2026.
The Wembley concert, held on September 12 as part of his AURA WORLD TOUR 2026, reportedly sold out in fewer than 48 hours. Reports put the audience at approximately 92,000 people, with fans from different backgrounds filling the iconic London venue.
Dosanjh opened the performance with his now-famous declaration, “Punjabi Aa Gaye Wembley Oye!”, telling the audience that the occasion would go down in history.
During the more-than-two-hour show, he performed some of his biggest songs, including “G.O.A.T.,” “Lover,” “Hass Hass” and “Born to Shine.” He also interacted with members of the audience, inviting several fans, including children and an elderly woman, onto the stage. The concert concluded with “Main Hoon Punjabi” and a fireworks display.
A Celebration of Punjabi Culture
The Wembley event extended beyond the music, with Punjabi culture becoming a prominent part of the concert experience.
Concertgoers were offered free turban-wrapping services at the venue, allowing fans to have traditional Punjabi turbans wrapped and styled. Wembley Stadium shared footage showing attendees gathering at a dedicated space, with people across different age groups embracing the traditional headwear.
The initiative added a distinctive cultural dimension to Dosanjh’s historic Wembley appearance, allowing fans to participate directly in a visible celebration of Punjabi heritage.
The concert also featured moments highlighting Dosanjh’s connection with his audience. In a separate moment reported after the show, the singer invited two Punjabi construction workers onto the stage after learning that they had come directly from their shifts to attend the concert. Dosanjh thanked them for spending their hard-earned money on the show, bowed to them and presented them with gifts.
Ahmedabad Concert Announced
Dosanjh used the Wembley stage to announce his next major stadium performance.
The singer confirmed that he will perform at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 21, 2026. The announcement comes as part of his continuing AURA WORLD TOUR and will mark his return to India following his successful Dil-Luminati India Tour in 2024.
While announcing the Ahmedabad concert, Dosanjh referred to the success of Coldplay’s concert at Narendra Modi Stadium, congratulating the British band for selling out the venue. He then emphasized that a major Indian stadium should also host a Punjabi artist.
Ticket prices and booking information for the Ahmedabad concert had not been announced at the time of the initial announcement.
From Coachella to Wembley
The Wembley achievement is the latest in a series of international milestones for Dosanjh.
In 2023, he became the first Punjabi artist to headline Coachella. In 2024, he became the first Indian artist to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. His international touring career has subsequently taken him to major venues throughout North America, the United Kingdom and Europe.
His 2026 North American tour reportedly included 15 dates, more than 225,000 tickets sold and more than $32 million in revenue. The tour also included two performances at Madison Square Garden in New York, where Dosanjh became the venue’s first Punjabi headliner.
The AURA WORLD TOUR has therefore continued a trajectory that has taken Punjabi music into some of the world’s most recognizable entertainment venues.
A Global Punjabi Music Moment
Dosanjh’s Wembley performance represents another major international platform for Punjabi-language music. The audience included a large South Asian contingent alongside fans from other communities, reflecting the increasingly international reach of his music.
From Coachella and Madison Square Garden to Wembley Stadium, Dosanjh has built an international touring profile while maintaining Punjabi language and culture at the center of his performances.
His Ahmedabad announcement now brings that global journey back to India, with Narendra Modi Stadium scheduled to host Dosanjh on November 21.
