Ambassador Vinay Kwatra Inaugurates Eight New Indian Consular Application Centers Across the USA: In a major boost for the Indian diaspora and Indo-US relations, Ambassador Shri Vinay Kwatra virtually inaugurated eight new Indian Consular Application Centers (ICACs) across the United States on August 1, 2025. These new centers have been launched in Raleigh, Orlando, San Jose, Dallas, Detroit, Columbus, Edison and Boston, with another ICAC soon to open in Los Angeles.

This strategic expansion brings the total number of ICACs in the U.S. to 17, significantly improving the accessibility and efficiency of consular services for both Indian nationals and American citizens seeking Indian visas and documents.

Moreover, the Embassy of India has taken a major step to enhance operational convenience. All 17 centers will now function six days a week, including Saturdays—an upgrade from the earlier five-day schedule. This move aims to accommodate the working population and students who prefer weekend appointments.

Additionally, a broader range of consular and attestation services will now be available at ICACs, simplifying the process for services like OCI, passport renewal, document attestation, and more.

Ambassador Kwatra, while addressing the virtual ceremony, emphasized that this expansion reflects the ongoing commitment of the Embassy to provide efficient, people-friendly services. He added that this effort is inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who holds the Indian diaspora in high regard and believes in strengthening their connection with India.
