Bangladesh Embassy in The Hague Announces New Honorary Consulate and Appointment in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Bangladesh Embassy in The Hague marked a significant milestone on June 28th with the inauguration of a new Honorary Consulate in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ambassador Riaz Hamidullah announced the appointment of Mr. Ivo Jokic as the Honorary Consul in Republika Srpska, a major step in enhancing Bangladesh’s diplomatic and economic presence in the Balkan region.

During the inauguration ceremony, Ambassador Hamidullah highlighted the potential for economic collaboration between Bangladesh and Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing that the new consulate’s role will extend beyond Bosnia. “The Honorary Consulate promises to tap into economic collaboration potential across the Balkans,” he stated, underscoring the strategic importance of this initiative for fostering bilateral relations and economic partnerships.

The appointment of Mr. Ivo Jokic as the Honorary Consul is seen as a pivotal move to strengthen ties between Bangladesh and the Balkans. Jokic, known for his extensive experience and network in the region, is expected to facilitate business opportunities, cultural exchanges, and diplomatic engagements.
