Dr. Andaz, Shaeda Alloo, Linda Armyn Honored at Mount Sinai South Nassau Gala. Mount Sinai South Nassau’s Soirée Under the Stars on November 9, 2024, celebrated three outstanding individuals for their contributions to healthcare and the community. Held at The Lannin in Eisenhower Park, the gala honored Dr. Shahriyour Andaz, Director of Thoracic Oncology; Shaeda Alloo, a veteran respiratory therapist; and Linda Armyn, President and CEO of Bethpage Federal Credit Union.
Dr. Andaz received the Mary Pearson Award for his exemplary leadership in lung cancer care. A skilled and compassionate physician, Dr. Andaz has been instrumental in advancing oncology services at the hospital, positively impacting countless lives.
Ms. Alloo was presented with the Cupola Award, which recognizes hospital employees who go above and beyond in their roles. With over 40 years of service, including her courageous work on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Alloo’s dedication has earned her widespread respect and admiration.

Linda Armyn was recognized as the corporate honoree of the evening. As the first woman to lead Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Armyn has played a pivotal role in community engagement and public health education. Her efforts have enhanced health and wellness for thousands of Long Island residents through initiatives like the hospital’s Truth in Medicine public health poll.
The funds raised during the gala will support Mount Sinai South Nassau’s Cancer Programs, furthering advancements in care and providing assistance to patients undergoing treatment.
The evening featured a lively cocktail reception, a gourmet sit-down dinner, live music from a 10-piece band, and a high-energy auction that included tickets to the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black golf course.
