Associate Prof. Dr. Sher Banu Abdul Latif Khan and Researcher Abbas Khan from the Department of Malay Studies of NUS gave a talk today on “Writing Pakistanis” into Singapore’s History: Heritage and Identity of a Community. The first-of-its-kind academic study highlighted how Pakistanis living in modern-day Singapore for more than a century identify themselves with Pakistan. It also underscored their contributions to Singapore’s development. A mini-exhibition was also held at the venue, attended by a cross-section of Pakistanis in Singapore. The High Commissioner also attended the event together with other officials of the Hicom.
