UAE-Based Dr. Thumbay Moideen Receives New Year Award 2026 from Manipal Institutions: UAE-based Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder and President of Thumbay Group, has been awarded the New Year Award 2026, jointly instituted by the Academy of General Education (AGE), Manipal, in collaboration with Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), MEMG India Pvt. Ltd., Manipal Media Network Ltd., and the Dr. TMA Pai Foundation.

The New Year Award recognises individuals who have made notable contributions to society and community development. It is presented to personalities associated with the coastal districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada, acknowledging leadership that has resulted in sustained impact in the fields of education, healthcare, and social development.
Dr. Moideen has been selected in recognition of his work in developing an integrated ecosystem covering healthcare services, medical education, research, diagnostics, and community-oriented initiatives. Since the establishment of Thumbay Group in 1997, he has overseen the development of institutions including Gulf Medical University and a network of academic hospitals and healthcare facilities operating across multiple countries.
Originally from coastal Karnataka and now based in the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Moideen has built professional and institutional linkages across the Middle East and other regions. His work has focused on expanding access to healthcare services, strengthening medical education, and supporting international academic collaboration.
