Gregory Vijayendran, SC, Receives Singapore Law Society’s Prestigious CC Tan Award 2026: Gregory Vijayendran, Senior Counsel (SC) and Partner at leading law firm Rajah & Tann Singapore, has been conferred the prestigious CC Tan Award 2026, the highest annual honour presented by The Law Society of Singapore to a member of the Singapore Bar.
The award recognises legal professionals who demonstrate the fundamental virtues of the legal profession, including honesty, fair play, gentlemanliness and personal integrity.
The award was presented during The Law Society of Singapore’s Annual Dinner on October 30, 2026. It commemorates Tan Chye Cheng, popularly known as C C Tan, the Society’s first President, whose legacy represents the highest ideals and ethical standards of the legal profession.
Rajah & Tann Asia announced the recognition, congratulating Vijayendran on receiving the distinguished honour and describing it as a well-deserved achievement.
Reacting to the recognition, Vijayendran expressed his sincere appreciation for the honour, acknowledging The Law Society of Singapore and its 2026 Council, led by Professor Tan Cheng Han SC.
In his LinkedIn post, he said he was deeply moved and humbled by the recognition. He also indicated that he would share his award acceptance speech later in the week, following a court hearing.
Vijayendran revealed that his speech paid tribute to the 23 distinguished award recipients who preceded him, while also expressing appreciation for his adversaries in court, highlighting the importance of mutual respect and professional conduct in the legal profession.
His recognition underscores the importance of ethical leadership, professional integrity and respect for the rule of law, values that remain central to maintaining public confidence in the justice system.
The CC Tan Award is particularly significant because it celebrates qualities that extend beyond legal expertise and courtroom achievements. It acknowledges the character, conduct and ethical commitment expected of members of the legal fraternity.
