The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) in Qatar recently hosted a mesmerizing evening of soulful instrumental performances and vibrant group dances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of India. The event, held on January 28 at the ICC premises, featured talented artists from India, representing the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR). The event began with captivating performances by renowned musicians Bipul Ray, Mayank Raina, and Aditya Banerjee. Nandini Abbagouni, ICC’s Head of Cultural Activities, warmly welcomed the audience and set the tone for the evening. A.P. He emphasized the role of ICC in fostering a sense of unity and pride among the Indian diaspora in Qatar.

Abraham Joseph, ICC’s Secretary, expressed gratitude to the community for their overwhelming response to ICC’s cultural initiatives. He also shared details about the various programs and activities undertaken by ICC to engage and empower the Indian community in Qatar.

Promoting Indian Tribal Products and Community Initiatives

In addition to the cultural performances, the event also featured an initiative to promote Indian tribal products, led by TRIFED (Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India). This effort aimed to support tribal artisans and bring their unique creations to a global audience. The IBPC played a pivotal role in spearheading this initiative, further strengthening the bond between India and Qatar.

The proceedings were skillfully anchored by Shantanu Deshpande, ICC’s Head of School Activities, ensuring a seamless flow of events. The occasion was also attended by ICC’s General Secretary, Mohan Kumar, along with other managing committee members, presidents of associated organizations, and senior community leaders.
