Nominations Open for 2025 Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence: The Victorian Government and the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) have called on Victorians to nominate outstanding individuals and organisations who champion diversity and strengthen community connections.

On Monday, Minister for Multicultural Affairs Ingrid Stitt officially launched nominations for the 2025 Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence, marking their 24th year. These prestigious awards celebrate the tireless efforts of people and groups working to build a fair, inclusive, and welcoming Victoria.

Speaking at the launch, Minister Stitt emphasised, “Victoria’s diversity is one of our greatest strengths – and these awards are about recognising the people and organisations who work every day to make our communities stronger, fairer and more connected.”

Recognising Champions of Diversity

Nominations are open to both paid professionals and volunteers across the state. Winners will be honoured at a special ceremony later this year, recognising their significant contributions to multiculturalism in Victoria.

There are 14 award categories for 2025, including:

  • Arts
  • Business and Employment
  • Emergency Services

  • Youth Leadership

  • Premier’s Award for Community Harmony

Quiet Efforts, Profound Impact

VMC Chairperson Vivienne Nguyen AM highlighted the importance of these awards, stating, “These awards highlight the remarkable people who are helping to shape a more inclusive Victoria — their efforts are often quiet, but their impact is profound.”
