Tampa Bay’s Pakistani Community Celebrates 77th Independence Day. On August 18th, 2024, the Pakistani community of Tampa Bay came together to celebrate their 77th Independence Day at The Regent in Riverview. The event, hosted by the Pakistani American Association (PAA) of Tampa Bay. It attracted over 500 residents who proudly wore the national colors of green and white.

The celebration featured captivating performances by children and youth, highlighting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage. Guests enjoyed traditional food, admired clothing and jewelry, and explored art vendors showcasing their work. A fashion show, traditional dances, national songs, and inspiring speeches added to the day’s vibrant atmosphere.

Mehwish Raja, President of PAA Tampa Bay, expressed her joy at the event’s success. She stated, “We were thrilled with the outstanding event, marked by wonderful performances from our talented participants. They truly brought the spirit of the day to life. Our Board and volunteers worked hard to make this day one to remember. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this joyous occasion.”

The Pakistani American Association of Tampa Bay thanked all sponsors, volunteers, and supporters for their contributions, which made the event a phenomenal success.

The PAA, a non-profit organization established in 1991, serves the Pakistani American community in Tampa Bay. The organization is dedicated to promoting Pakistani culture, heritage, and traditions, while fostering a sense of community among Pakistani Americans in the area.
