Governor Greg Abbott Rings NYSE Closing Bell to Celebrate Opening of NYSE Texas Headquarters in Dallas: Texas Governor Greg Abbott rang the Closing Bell of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Thursday to mark the grand opening of the NYSE Texas headquarters at the historic Old Parkland campus in Dallas, highlighting the state’s growing influence in the U.S. and global capital markets.
The ceremony brought together state lawmakers, financial-market leaders and members of the NYSE Texas listed community as Texas formally welcomed the permanent headquarters of the fully electronic equities exchange.
“Texas has now been home to the most capital of any state in the United States of America, and it just makes sense that Texas is now home to capital markets right here in Dallas,” Governor Abbott said. “We are future-proofing our state to ensure that we will be a long-lasting legacy for any business that wants to operate here.”
Abbott also recognized Texas business leaders whose contributions have helped transform the state into one of the world’s major economic centers. Texas now boasts the eighth-largest economy in the world, leads the United States in job creation and continues to rank among the nation’s most business-friendly states.
NYSE Texas Deepens Presence in Dallas
NYSE Texas is part of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE: ICE) and began operations in 2025. Launched in March 2025, it is the first securities exchange to be incorporated in Texas.
The exchange has rapidly expanded and now has more than 120 issuers with a combined market capitalization exceeding $2 trillion. Texas is also home to more than $4.8 trillion in total NYSE-listed market value, underscoring the state’s significant role in U.S. capital markets.
The new Dallas headquarters provides NYSE Texas-listed companies with a dedicated venue and event space, further strengthening the exchange’s relationship with companies, investors and business leaders operating in Texas.
“Texas is home to more Fortune 500 company headquarters than any other U.S. state, and the establishment of NYSE Texas reflects our deep commitment to the businesses and leaders driving the robust Texas economy forward,” said Lynn Martin, President, NYSE Group. “This headquarters is where our commitment to the state becomes concrete as a dedicated home for the innovators who are shaping the future.”
Bryan Daniel, President of NYSE Texas, said the new headquarters represents an expansion of the exchange’s mission to serve Texas businesses.
“NYSE Texas was built to serve our community, and today we take that mission to the next level,” Daniel said. “Texas is one of America’s premier destinations for business growth and innovation, and we are proud to deepen the NYSE’s presence in a state that continues to set the standard for economic dynamism.”
