Surrey Libraries receive $20,000 Gift

The members of Chetna Association, Ambedkarite International Coordination Society, and Shri Guru Ravidass Sabha (Vancouver) met Surrey Library board and library staff on October 14 and gifted $20,000 to Surrey Libraries in support of its various literacy and inclusive library programs. 

To present the gift and grace the occasion, Indian Consul Manjish Grover and Bruce Ralston (Minister of Energy, Mines, and Low Carbon Innovation) also attended and shared their views on the contributions of Dr. Ambedkar and the value of quality and inclusive education. Local artist, Jyotika Jasuja, sang ‘Pargati Ki Raah Dikhayee’, a song that praises Dr. Ambedkar for his contributions to emancipation of Women of India.
