The Indian American Medical Association Charitable Foundation (IAMACF) organized its fundraising gala on May 20, 2023, at the Waterford Banquet in Elmhurst, Il. Dr. Suneela Harsoor, the Chairperson of the organization, emphasized the valuable Not-For-Profit services provided to the community. The event was highly attended, with over 300 guests present. The entire team worked tirelessly to make the event a success. Dr. Annita John, the MC of the ceremony, highlighted that the cost of running the free clinic amounts to approximately $190,000 per year and appealed to the attendees to generously open their hearts and wallets. Many guests made donations in support of IAMACF’s cause.
Dr. Piyush Vyas, the 41st President of IAMA, stressed the importance of recruiting more physicians and encouraging them to become members. This would enable greater support for this remarkable cause. The gala also marked the semi annual meeting.
Dr. Abha Agrawal, the keynote speaker, delivered a speech on healthcare equity and emphasized the significance of technology in today’s healthcare landscape.
The IAMACF Board recognized and presented awards to acknowledge the unwavering support of the community’s doctors. Dr. Ashutosh Gupta received the Humanitarian Service Award in recognition of his exemplary and compassionate service to humanity. Additional awards were given to Dr. Brij Malani for his continued volunteering and leadership over 25 years, Dr. Tariq Butt for his lifetime of remarkable achievements and contributions to society, Mr. Kishore Chugh for his loyalty and volunteering for over 18 years, Miss Melissa Maguire for her leadership, Miss Puja Patel for her strong work ethic, and Mr. Dave Vasudevan of Digislate, Inc. for providing exceptional customer service.
