Nepalese national cricket team’s historic win against West Indies

Nepal/West Indies

The Nepalese national cricket team bagged a historic win against West Indies A on Saturday. Nepal defeated West Indies A by four wickets at TU Cricket Ground to lead the five-match T20 series 1-0.

Captain Rohit Paudel emerged as the hero for Nepal, orchestrating a remarkable chase of the target of 205 runs with two balls to spare.

Despite the early loss of openers Anil Sah (5) and Kushal Bhurtel (16), Nepal found stability with a 64-run partnership between Rohit Paudel and DS Airee.

While Airee contributed 24 runs before departing, Paudel continued to dominate, crafting a sensational century off just 47 balls.

His remarkable innings ended at 112 runs from 54 deliveries in the penultimate over. With nine runs needed from the last six balls, Gulshan Jha’s consecutive boundaries sealed the victory for Nepal.

On the bowling front, Matthew Forde and Obed McCoy claimed two wickets each for the losing West Indies A side.

Earlier, West Indies A set a formidable target of 204/5, anchored by captain Roston Chase’s impressive 74 runs off 46 balls. Despite Abinash Bohara’s economical spell of 1 wicket for 28 runs, Nepal faced a challenging task before Paudel’s heroic innings secured their triumph.
