US Ambassador Dr Anjani Sinha Begins Tenure in Singapore: Ambassador Anjani K. Sinha, MD arrived in Singapore to officially begin his tenure as the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore. His arrival marked the beginning of a new chapter in US–Singapore relations. Moreover, he reinforced the United States’ commitment to strengthening this long-standing partnership.

Upon landing in Singapore, Ambassador Sinha said he was “deeply honored to represent the United States in Singapore, a friend of the United States that is a leading hub for American business and a pillar of regional stability.” He added that he looks forward to working closely with Singapore’s government and people to deepen collaboration across key sectors.
Expanding Strategic Cooperation
Transitioning into his diplomatic responsibilities, Ambassador Sinha highlighted President Trump’s directive to “increase our ambitions for cooperation with Singapore, based on mutual respect and shared priorities.”
Furthermore, he noted that both nations have significant opportunities for greater engagement in technology, energy, and security, which continue to shape regional and global stability.
From Bihar to the Global Stage
Dr Sinha’s journey began in Bihar, India, where he was born before pursuing medicine at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College. After completing his studies, he worked at Safdarjung Hospital and the Central Institute of Orthopaedics in New Delhi.
In 1979, he moved to the United States to advance his medical training. He completed internships at both Mount Sinai Medical Centre and Long Island Jewish Medical Centre, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in orthopaedic surgery and medical leadership.
A Physician’s Approach to Diplomacy
With decades of medical and entrepreneurial experience, Ambassador Sinha brings a people-centered approach to diplomacy.
“As a physician, I have spent my career connecting with people and delivering results,” he said. Additionally, he emphasized his commitment to applying that same collaborative spirit to strengthen relations between the United States and Singapore.

Personal Life and Philanthropy
Ambassador Sinha has been married for 48 years to Dr Kiki Sinha, a retired anaesthesiologist and a faculty member at New York University. They have two children and three grandchildren. Moreover, the couple remains active in philanthropy, supporting educational institutions in New Hampshire, New York, and India.
